Clean upholstery can have a surprising effect

Picture this scene: you've come to meet a potential new business partner at their HQ, you've just sat down, and you've found yourself seated on sticky furniture...worse, a strange aroma is emanating from it. This is bad enough, but when you get invited into the boss's office, you discover a filthy carpet and notice that his chair has a large white mark on it! Ordinarily, you may have been able to let this go, but that sofa you sat on has worked its way into your brain and now there is no forgetting. These things concern you: clean upholstery is invisible and leaves a great impression. Dirty upholstery might point to something else – a lack of concern for business affairs, maybe? Either way, it's never well received.

Carpet cleaning is often the thing at the office that gets ignored – and with the wash-room and office rooms to worry about, it's not hard to understand why. When you consider the sheer number of tasks that employees have to manage on a daily basis, it's hardly surprising that the carpet gets so much abuse.

Which brings us to another question: why call in professionals to clean the carpet when you can do it all yourself?

Professional carpet cleaning is a long-term solution

The answer to that question is simple. For one thing, professional carpet cleaning goes deep. While  more or less anyone can learn how to clean a carpet well, the best results are always had by combining experience with the best technology out there. That's something we at Daisyclean make a habit of doing, and take very seriously. All our employees have experience with cleaning a range of different carpets and using the machines that are revolutionising this industry. This is important, because every carpet is different and requires a slightly different level of service. Knowing when to stop is important, because you don't want to waste time. Equally, stop too soon and you won't get that deep-clean-feel that's so appreciated.

Carpet cleaning at economical prices

Value for money is also another big reason why people use our services, of course. It makes much more sense to hire us for a few hours than to purchase expensive equipment that you're not sure how to handle.

So, we've mentioned that with professional carpet cleaning, the carpet looks great. But what about the feel? The beauty of top-quality cleaning is easy to see: it feels great to walk on and it smells infinitely better. With all the stains gone, employees are much happier and have a spring in their step. There are other things, too. Such as the fact that visiting clients and potential new business partners will get a great feeling from walking on fresh carpet. By giving your employees a better working environment that they can be proud of, and giving off a great first impression to anyone who walks through the door, you'll soon see why carpet

Several useful advices, which will result in a cleaner home.

House cleaning is one of the most annoying things one has to do. It takes time, and nerves, and effort and can even be an expensive activity – just consider how costly can it be to buy each of the cleaning agents and detergents that you probably keep under your kitchen sink in one purchase. And when it comes to cleaning the carpets you may wish that you have not put them in the first place. However, in this article we will give you useful tips for how to clean your rugs and carpets. Furthermore, you will be informed whether to call the professional carpet cleaners.

Our tips are, as follows:
  • Do not use cleaning disinfecting cleaning detergents on your carpet. Do not use carpet shampoos on natural matters. They are designed to remove stains from synthetic surfaces only and will harm your woolen carpet .
  • Use cotton rags or old cloths to absorb liquids, which have been spilled on your carpet. Remember not to rub, because you can damage its colours.
  • Vacuum both sides of the carpet. This will increase your effort but it will also increase the effect of your cleaning.

It is good to fully wash your carpets at least twice a year. In the areas where there are four seasons the best time to do it usually is considered to be in spring and autumn. In spring you prepare them for the summer and wash them after the winter and in autumn you make them clean for the winter when there are low chances for you to take them out for a wash. However, calling the professional agencies you can have them cleaned in no time during each season. To fully wash a carpet can take between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on its size and the amount of dirt it has gathered over the time. This means that the professional carpet cleaners can have all your carpets washed in less than several hours – it is a lot faster than you yourself could ever achieve it. They use very low moisture equipment and advanced techniques, such as the dry cleaning, using which they are able of dealing with even the most stubborn stains. Furthermore, with them they can extract even the tiniest bits of dust that otherwise remain stuck inside the carpet.

In addition to this they use various other techniques as well. Among them are the hot water extraction and the steam cleaning (steam cleaners are available on the market for domestic users as well, however, those, used by the professionals are much more powerful).

Depending on the business and establishment, acquiring the perfect carpet cleaner is key to a successful cleaning solution. The features that are part of the carpet cleaner will largely determine the effectiveness of the machine for the businesses specific needs. Things such as the type of surfaces in and around the business are vital to selecting the right carpet cleaner.

Often, it is the case that the carpet needs surveying first to ascertain the damage caused. Also, the type and thickness of the carpet has a large effect on which carpet cleaner to use. The top carpet cleaners have to be able to reach high temperatures in which to kill off both bacteria and soil in the material.

Cold water carpet cleaners can still have a good effect, but this will not work towards the more stubborn marks. The suction power of the machines varies greatly and this contributes a lot towards the overall lifting ability of the carpet cleaner.

Aside from these features, there are plenty of other options to decide on when choosing the best carpet cleaners for commercial areas. There can be altering types of wand that help towards the cleaning of various materials and also cleaners that will dispose of the dirty water automatically.

There are also low flow carpet cleaners that can be used specifically in the cleaning of rugs. These carpet cleaning machines will use less water as a result and treat the rugs gently, so as not to the damage the more delicate fabric. With low flow ability, the rate at which the rug dries is much quicker than with carpets.

The best carpet cleaners for commercial areas also will utilise the hot and cold water temperatures to maximise cleaning options. This versatility is integral to the cleaner and gives them an advantage over other cleaning machines. If the carpet is too fragile or the stain is not a major one, then the cold water is a good option. On the other hand, if the carpet is thick and the stain engrained, then the higher temperatures would be more suitable. For commercial purposes, the water within the carpet cleaners needs to be able to reach extremely high temperatures and jet out at strong pressures also. The pressure then helps remove hardened stains and marks.

Residential cleaning jobs can include heavily soiled trace marks where furniture has since been moved or replaced. These marks can be very awkward to combat, especially when they have been engrained for many years in the building. Your reputation as a carpet cleaner can rest on these types of marks being dealt with effectively. So what is the best way to counter these types of trace marks?

With years of footsteps and heavy furniture travelling through the busiest areas of the building, the carpet’s trace marks may not be up to the scrutiny of even the hardest methods of cleaning. Therefore, the communication between you and the client needs to be embedded and strong. They need to know the truth of the matter and that sometimes the condition of the carpet against the trace marks may not be reversible. If they are then aware of this, you will not have to put up with the stress of worrying about their reaction, if you are unable to clear the trace marks.

It is a good idea to communicate how to prevent further marks from appearing to the client. They will appreciate your advice. Resilient and large mats need to be placed in all doorways and these need to be regularly cleaned, otherwise their use becomes obsolete.

To try and help reduce the trace marks, a thorough vacuuming is necessary. You will need to aim for deep soil removal from multiple angles to remove the stubborn trace marks. Choose a pre-spray that is best suited to the type of carpet and stain. This needn’t be the strongest or most caustic type of pre-spray. The trace marks will respond best to the correctly chosen pre-spray. Be sure to have an increased concentration of pre-spray when applying to the carpet. Because of the nature of the trace marks, this is an important process and the concentration should be carefully considered.

It may be of use to agitate the fibres of the carpet. This can include brushing and help to lift some of the deeper soiled areas. As a result, they will be easier to lift with the vacuum after agitation is completed. This should be carried out especially on the denser varieties of carpet.

If necessary, use increased water flow and pressure to the affected areas. Deep seated trace marks may also need emulsifiers and/or wick sprays to lift the soiled parts. By following these methods, you will be giving yourself a great chance of success.

There are untold amounts of dust and dirt particles that contaminate your carpet. These are invisible to the naked eye however, so it can be tricky to decide whether your carpet needs a deep clean or not. If it has never been carpet cleaned then there is probably a strong need to give it a thorough pressure clean, as there may be some hazardous toxins embedded in the fabric.

There are some good reasons why you need to get your carpet properly cleaned with a specialist machine cleaner and here are just a few: Carpets are renowned for hiding and holding a great many dirt particles. Unlike hard floors, they can be incredibly difficult to brush, sweep, mop up or vacuum. Therefore, the carpet builds up layers of these contaminants and this can then lead to some issues. The problem most people have is that they do not know when to clean their carpet. Unfortunately, as stated, it is difficult to know because of the microscopic world we humans cannot see.

Hot water cleaning with a proper machine removes and kills any harmful bacteria and soil remaining in the carpet after regular vacuuming. If your carpet has surface dirt, then it is a safe bet that it could do with a deeper clean also. Carpet cleaning makes a difference to the aesthetics of your property, as well as improving the air condition. Particles are less likely to be released from the carpet and spread around in the atmosphere. If they are removed, then the air is cleaner and will cause less allergic reactions. The health aspect is not to be overlooked from thorough carpet cleaning.

It can dramatically raise the hygiene levels within the property and so this alone is a great reason to get your carpets cleaned. If you have pets and children or there are smokers in the property, then you should probably think about carpet cleaning more regularly. This is because the amount of germs spread and dirt particles are increased many times over with these factors. So other than keeping strong health and hygiene around your home, protecting against allergies and other nasty health implications, carpet cleaning makes your floors look great and will transform your living space.

Carpet cleaning is a relatively simple industry to start up in with low costs involved as opposed to other businesses. The rewards can be great from the outset and the potential need for the services is widespread as well, in all parts of the country.

Equally, the ease at which the carpet cleaning industry is to get into can be a negative point too. The market can be saturated by those who see it as an easy route to success. As a result, the quality of the industry is somewhat lowered by those who neither have the right knowledge or determination to succeed.

Prices can vary due to the newcomer’s lack of understanding and the whole market can feel an amount of pressure. It can be a lot more difficult to not only achieve success but to sustain any semblance of a business. New cleaners will then go out of business, only to be replaced by more prospects.

The fact is that not enough care and time is taken into preparing for a business. Like any business, there has to be a plan of action and of all financial aspects to be covered fully. If not, then the carpet cleaner will be running the risk of failure before they even begin.

To stop this trend, it is always good to have a passion for what you’re doing and not throw yourself into something just because you think it might be a money spinner.

Have a sound financial sense of what you’re doing and include every hidden cost, even adding an extra amount to the total just in case. It is similar to renovating a property. The costs will always be higher than you assume, so expect the unexpected.

Remember that profit means what you make once all your expenses (including travel costs) are taken on board. The ideal solution for all newcomers is to eventually hire workers to do the labour, rather than yourself.

It is crucial to research into equipment and how much you will need to use per week, how many clients you will look to clean for and the amount of square feet you should look to cover.

Don’t undersell yourself just because you’re new or want to get ahead of the competition. You need to make profits and by charging too little, this will be undermined.

To first answer the question, or get better idea of which direction to choose, you must first consider the differences between the two. Carpet cleaning entails the use of chemicals and hot pressure in soiled areas that are usually finalised by one or two thorough cleans.

A restoration of a carpet is more of a specialised project and requires a detailed assessment prior to work. The method of cleaning may differ from other alternate systems and the length of time can also vary from job to job. Essentially the restoration of the carpet is a well rehearsed maintenance job.

If you are still unsure of which option to take, then there are some other tips and clues that may help you decide.

If there is a large amount of damage to the carpet that is not as a result of regular dirt or soil, then restoration is usually the best idea. A professional can be called in to inspect this if you are not entirely sure. The inspection can also examine further conditions of the carpet and whether it needs restoring.

Fibre damage that has occurred with no clear relation to dirt and soil is another pointer to restoration. So pulled, frayed, split or torn fibres are included in this equation. If the carpet does not need restoring, then carpet cleaning would naturally suffice.

Vacuum clean often too, so you can try and qualify the need for restoration yourself. It will also help to maintain the upkeep of your carpet and reduce the amount of dust and particles embedded. To use cleaning sprays and solutions yourself can also improve the effectiveness of the early stages of carpet cleaning and help combat any bad smells associated with the carpet.

Hot water under high pressure is the key to obtaining a great carpet clean. By using the industry standard carpet cleaner, you will be giving your carpets the best way of being transformed, as well as improving the hygiene in the property.

To use the cleaner in ‘traffic lanes’ or areas of frequent walkthrough is a great idea, as these are the zones most likely to have contaminants locked in the fibre of the carpets.

Carpet cleaning can be a good part of restoration itself, but not the crux of the job. Restoration involves more intricate work and can take a lot longer. Cleaning is essentially removing particles from the carpet and ensuring that they look great once more.

Restaurant and pub owners are always trying to attract new customers, whilst keeping their existing clientele. Part of achieving this is to always maintain high standards of cleanliness around the property. A clean carpet is vitally important for first impressions and long term popularity, in terms of showcasing a bar, pub or restaurant environment.

The premises can very easily highlight stains of all varieties, and the carpet is especially vulnerable in such establishments, due to the constant flow of customers from outside, and the risk of food or drinks spillages. This will raise the question of how to deal with the maintenance of your floor?

One way to keep your pub and restaurant carpets clean is to buy or hire a  professional carpet cleaning machine for deep cleaning your carpets and floors periodically . This will do a solid, dependable job, but depending on the levels of dirt or stains it might be more cost efficient if you require from your cleaning contractor to put in place  floor maintenance program  . It is common for restaurants to have floor maintenance program to deal with the state of the carpets and the rest of flooring.

These machines use heated water and steam that is injected deep into the fibre of the carpet which is then used to lift the dirt. It is recommended when hiring or buying carpet cleaning machine, to go for one with professional one which will do the job for you, as this will save effort and time, as well as making sure the job gets done correctly and in an effective manner.

Make a note to hire them on a more regular basis, as this will help to maintain your pub and restaurant carpets in the long term, and save from costly repairs. It will give you peace of mind that your pub and restaurant carpets are being kept to the very highest quality, which also gives your venue a cleaner, more welcoming feel. This helps towards gaining new clients and keeping familiar ones too.

Obviously, your carpets will need regular, daily vacuuming from a solid vacuum cleaner, to rid them of everyday dust and dirt. This needs to become a routine that is kept up, in order to fight the onset of dust and general grime. As a rule of thumb, always maintain your entrance mats, as they accumulate a lot of dirt and keep your skirting boards clean and scrubbed.

If you adhere to these methods, then you are sure to maintain healthy, clean looking carpets throughout.

But If you decide to use a professional daily cleaning contractor, or if you need advice, then give Daisyclean a ring for immediate and efficient cleaning and maintenance solutions.

There will always be occasions, such as when you have a dinner party, where there will be an increased risk of beer being spilt and staining your carpet or rug. There’s nothing worse than beer stains on carpet which could potentially stay for good if it isn’t eliminated swiftly. Sometimes worse than the look of the stain itself, the smell that emanates can be quite pungent and linger if it is left untouched for several hours.

To treat this issue, first press a paper towel on the affected stain to absorb as much moisture as possible. Then, make a solution of warm water, white vinegar and washing up liquid. Apply as much of the solution into the sponge, and then dab it on the area, without rubbing as this will only smear the mark. Then, leave the moisture there to draw up the stain.
Finally, use a towel or dry cloth and place it over the stain. By pressing down hard, you will absorb the moisture, and with it, the beer stains. Again, do not rub vigorously to dry, just press and pat only.

Don’t forget to thoroughly rinse the sponge that you used, and keep it for cleaning purposes only. The area of the stain will not be fully dry, so you may want to leave that piece of carpet alone for twenty four hours, or you can use a hair drier or heater close by to draw up the remaining moisture within the fibres. This requires a little more effort, but if it is an area of flooring that is used a lot, then it may be a good idea to dry it sooner rather than later.

These steps may have managed to eliminate the stain by appearance, but the smell may still stubbornly linger. If this is the case, then try using baking soda to get rid of the unpleasant odours. Simply sprinkle some of the baking soda over the affected region, making sure it is first dry, and leave as it is. This is a cheap and safe way to maintain the good smell of your caret and is the final part of cleaning up beer stains. Not only will this process make your carpet look clean but it will also smell fresher too. The key is to act fast and not leave the mark to dry; otherwise it will become much more difficult to deal with.

In case you do not have the time to do some of this yourself, then why not give Daisyclean a shout?
